Our commitment to making a positive impact in the community is firmly rooted in our mission to help people and communities achieve better health. Working in partnership with nonprofit organizations, the Florida Blue Foundation addresses critical issues in local communities, opening new windows of opportunity to better enable our neighbors to reach their potential.

Story of Impact

A health encounter can be a stressful experience for anyone. This is especially true for people who have limited English language and literacy skills. Learn how grants addressing health literacy have made an impact on this population.

Health Equity

Improve health equity to ensure access and opportunity to achieve optimal health for those disadvantaged by environmental, economic and social circumstances

Food Security

Impact food security to help mitigate associated issues, which can be detrimental to health, development and well-being.

Mental Well-being

Advance mental well-being to mitigate stressors associated with issues that often impact entire families and/or communities

Grant Opportunities

Healthy Communities

  • Submission Deadline: Applications accepted daily.

  • Description: Grants to address critical issues in local communities, opening new windows of opportunity to better enable our neighbors to reach their potential. Applications are open.

Food Security

  • Submission Deadline: 2024 applications due before 3:00 p.m. (ET) on May 6, 3:00 p.m.

  • Description: The intent of this grant program is to award four-year grants to nonprofit organizations that have documented expertise and experience in addressing food insecurity. Programs should support equitable access to healthy food, and program services should focus on moving underserved or marginalized communities from food insecurity to food security.

Health Equity

  • Submission Deadline: No open application available for 2023. Monitor this page for funding opportunities in 2024.

  • Description: Awards three- or four-year grant to improve health equity to ensure that families and community members have both the access and opportunity to attain full health potential and are not disadvantaged due to environmental, economic, and/or social circumstance. 

Mental Well-being

  • Submission Deadline: 2024 application closed March 5. Monitor this page for funding opportunities in 2025.

  • Description: Awards three- and four-year grants to advance mental well-being for families and community members to mitigate the stressors associated with issues that often impact entire families and/or communities.
