There are so many wonderful communities throughout our state, and Florida Blue is with you no matter which one you call home. While many thrive, there are under-resourced neighborhoods that experience economic disparities. In recognizing this, we have supported underserved populations for more than 20 years.
Led by the Florida Blue Foundation, we’re continually working to improve food security, health equity, mental well-being, and addressing health disparities. In 2021, Florida Blue and the Florida Blue Foundation made charitable contributions totalling more than $27.7 million to nearly 800 nonprofit organizations, and our employees volunteered more than 60,000 hours in our communities.
The Foundation makes donations that touch lives throughout Florida by funding programs that focus on health solutions regarding equity, food security, and mental well-being. Through member outreach, employee volunteerism, and support provided to community health programs and fitness/wellness programs, we are committed to helping everyone in Florida achieve better health.

Corporate contributions
Our commitment to making a positive impact in the community is firmly rooted in our mission to help people and communities achieve better health.
As part of our corporate contributions, we partner with local nonprofit organizations that will add value, have lasting impact, and improve access to health-related services in our communities.
Our focus is to develop strategic partnerships with Florida-based nonprofit organizations, address social determinants of health in our communities, and support causes and issues critical to our company. All with the goal to improve the quality of life for all Floridians.
Growing resilient communities
In 2021 we launched the Growing Resilient Communities initiative (GRC) to help improve prosperity and reduce generational poverty in five ZIP Codes throughout the state.
This initiative identifies communities in need and partners with local organizations and residents to collaborate with government, nonprofits, faith institutions, and local businesses to address health, education, housing, and many other needs.

Florida Blue Foundation
The Florida Blue Foundation enables healthy communities by making grants, building coalitions, and embracing solutions that create a meaningful impact in our communities. Our programs impact food security, improve health equity, and advance mental well-being.
Our commitment to making an impact
We're with you to create meaningful differences in the health of the people we serve and are deeply committed to providing better access to high quality, affordable, and equitable health care.
Our goal is to deliver value to all our stakeholders—members, customers, patients, health care providers, employees, communities at large, business partners, and society as a whole.
The three pillars of holistic health, inclusive business practices and environmental sustainability guide our initiatives for the communities we serve:
Holistic health
When it comes to health care, there is no one-size-fits-all approach. To help ensure our members get the right care for medical, behavioral, and social needs, we offer holistic health plans to meet our members where they are on their health journey.
Inclusive business practices
We strive for a diverse and inclusive workforce that values all perspectives and contributions. By making strong connections within our community, we can foster and implement diverse, equitable, and inclusive practices.
Environmental sustainability
Environmental conditions have been directly linked to the health of a community. We promote environmentally responsible practices in our operations to both strengthen community health and help protect the planet.
