Make Sure You're Ready for Hurricane Season
The 2018 Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30 each year. Here's how to make sure you’re prepared.
Be sure to review personal evacuation and emergency plans with your family. As part of your personal preparedness, you should have an emergency kit (make sure nothing in it is expired) and a method for monitoring emergency alerts from local officials.
Ready.gov and the Red Cross both provide checklists for at-home preparedness and emergency response, as well as recommended items for an emergency kit. If you haven’t planned for an emergency in the past, you can use these online resources as a starting point. Also, the Florida Department of Financial Services provides a toll-free insurance helpline (1-877-693-5236) that connects you with insurance experts who can help file claims should your property incur damage from a storm.
Remember, the safety of you and your family is always the first priority!
If you have any issues during a storm and need help with your health care or health care plan, please call us at the customer service number on the back of your member ID card.
