Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men in the U.S.1 That’s why it's crucial to take proactive steps now toward improving heart health, especially during Men’s Health Month.

Did you know?

  • Half of men who die from heart disease had no previous symptoms.
  • Two major risk factors for heart disease are obesity and high blood pressure.
  • High blood pressure, often called the "silent killer," typically has no symptoms, making regular checkups crucial for early detection and management.2

Men are also less likely than women to schedule yearly checkups or visit the doctor when they're sick.3 This is a problem because it makes it harder to treat health problems early.

The good news

Many ongoing health conditions, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, and certain cancers, can be more easily treated and managed when caught early by a doctor.

By staying on top of their health, men can enjoy a better quality of life and are more likely be there for their loved ones for years to come.
