Virtual Dental Care Now Available
We’re here to help relieve some of the stress you may be experiencing right now. That includes finding safer, more convenient ways to get you access to health care—including urgent dental care.
Due to the coronavirus health concern, dental offices are being told to limit their services to emergency and urgent situations only. Your health is our top priority, so we’ve made special arrangements with our in-network dentists to provide emergency virtual dental assistance over the phone or through video chat. The virtual visit will be $0 cost-share.
This service is available through September 30, 2020, for members with Florida Blue dental coverage.
Access to this type of care is important at times like this. We want to ensure members are staying home and reducing their chances of exposure to the coronavirus (COVID-19), but still able to get the dental care they need.
Once you contact your dentist, they’ll provide an initial evaluation of your urgent need. If the dentist determines that you’ll need more treatment that cannot be provided virtually, they’ll work with you to make sure you receive the appropriate care.

Note: Florida Blue is also working with its self-funded ASO group employers to assist them in meeting the needs of their employees during the health crisis.
Other ways we’re offering support
Virtual Health Care: As long as the coronavirus continues to be a health concern, we’re providing virtual health care visits at $0 cost share. If you get insurance through your employer, check with your company’s benefits administrator to see if this service is part of your health plan. Teladoc doctors are available 24/7, which means you can avoid the doctor’s office and other sick patients when you have a non-emergency illness likes a sinus infection, sore throat, allergies or upset stomach. And medications, except controlled substances, can be prescribed.

Emotional Support: In partnership with New Directions Behavioral Health, you can talk to specially trained behavioral health counselors 24/7 at no cost. You can talk with a counselor about any stress you may be feeling by calling the toll-free helpline at 833-848-1762. The counselors will not be able to assist with questions about COVID-19 testing or treatment, so for those questions, please call us at the number on the back of your member ID card.
