It’s the New Year and for some of us, that means getting back to a normal routine. For others, it may mean starting some new routines. Either way, we’ve got some exciting new tools that are going to bring a fresh approach to your health routine for 2013.
As a Florida Blue member, you have exclusive access to a personalized WebMD site through your member account at floridablue.com
. Some of the highlights include access to health, medical and lifestyle information that’s tailored to you and your needs. You can access videos to help you understand certain conditions and read through articles to help you make the best health choices for you and your family. WebMD can even help you create a personalized health action plan by using easy to follow steps to guide you through the process.
Once you have your plan in place, you’ll want to take some steps toward meeting your goals and that’s where MyDigitalAssistant
comes in. This new tool helps you by giving you a way of tracking both your weekly and long-term goals in a simple and easy-to-use format. In fact, studies show that you’re more likely to achieve a long-term goal if you set milestones, or mini-achievements, along the way. The “digital assistant” works with you to help get to those milestones.
While many of these tools are available in other apps, they often miss the integral piece known as your Personal Health Record
, where you can securely maintain everything from your claims’ information to your provider visits and allergies within your member account. This allows you to integrate this information into your action plan for a comprehensive view of your health. You can even download your file to take with you to your next doctor visit!
All of the new tools and enhancements were designed to provide you with personalized assistance to start a new routine or give you some encouragement to continue one that’s working for you. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the new tools so please take a minute and leave me a comment about your experience. Until next time…
