Take Advantage of Your Dental Benefits
Did you know that your BlueMedicare plan includes dental coverage? Depending on your plan you might be covered for everything from cleanings to root canals.
While traditional Medicare covers some dental services, many Florida Blue Medicare Advantage plans include additional services. We’ve put together an overview of what traditional Medicare covers for you, and we’ll let you know where to go to find out what your Medicare Advantage plan covers in addition to that.
Medicare covers some dental services. Medicare does not cover routine dental care, like cleanings, X-rays or dentures. All people with Medicare can receive non-routine dental care. This means Medicare will cover services such as surgery to your jaw or related structures; setting fractures of your jaw or facial bones; teeth extraction if you need to prepare your jaw for radiation treatments of neoplastic cancer disease, or other dental services that would be provided by a medical doctor.)
What does my plan cover?
Check your plan’s Evidence of Coverage for more details about your covered services and to see what your copays and deductibles will be. Medicare-covered dental services require prior authorization.
