Health is the New Wealth

You probably own a Fitbit or know someone who does. It’s estimated that one in five Americans will use a fitness tracker product by the year 2021, which will pump over $20 million into that industry.

If you went to the gym last year, you contributed to the 5 billion trips people in the U.S. took to workout. Gym membership fees alone generated over $25.8 billion in revenue.

Have you added organic foods to your diet? If so, you’re not alone. Americans spent $50 billion on organic foods and beverages last year. The industry has experienced double-digit growth over the last five years.

While aspiring to live a healthier life is not a new trend, consumers— including Floridians like you—are now equating being healthy with feeling wealthy. Whether it’s adhering to a keto-based diet, participating in a goat yoga class or buying the latest performance-based apparel, Floridians are looking for easily accessible and affordable ways to feel rich through their health practices. The business of wellness is booming and it’s all because of you.

Why Wellness Is Hot
The ability to achieve good health is no longer perceived as a benefit reserved for those with means to pay trainers, hire personal chefs or undergo surgeries as a shortcut. Now, the prevalence of inexpensive gadgets, exercise equipment and do-it-yourself videos has made that healthily-wealthy feeling attainable by the masses. Here are just some of the factors that have compelled and empowered consumers like you to take more direct control of your health

  • You’re living longer. As a result, you are proactively seeking out ways to enjoy a better quality of life as you age. You’re hungry for methods to manage chronic ailments and overall health between routine office visits and annual checkups.
  • Health care can be expensive. It has become increasingly difficult to afford costs associated with medical care. To manage those costs, Floridians are exercising more and closely monitoring what they eat to maintain good health and guard against illness.
  • Showing off is easy and contagious. Social media has made it possible for us to instantaneously share our wellness journey with a broad network. Seeing friends and colleagues proudly showing off their workouts, more toned physiques and healthy eating habits has proven to be an effective motivator for others to pursue a “rich” life.

On the Wellness Journey With You
You have many ways to take us with you on your wellness journey. Prevention is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. It’s why we provided free flu shots throughout the month of October, and you still have until mid-November to get yours. Our retail centers offer free exercise classes, tech demos and health education seminars for local residents. Be sure to check out the planned activities of a center near you. Plus, our “My Kind of Workout” playlist on Spotify has songs to accommodate all the ways Floridians choose to stay in shape. These are just some of the ways we’re here to help you make “deposits” into your wellness bank so you can enjoy a healthy, rich life.

Here’s to life, liberty and your pursuit of wellness.
