Getting ready for Open Enrollment
Where can I buy insurance?
You can buy a Florida Blue health plan for 2021 coverage on these dates:
- October 1, 2020 – You can enroll in a plan directly through Florida Blue.
- November 1, 2020 – If you qualify for financial help, you can enroll in an eligible Florida Blue plan.
The last day you can enroll in a health plan for 2021 coverage is Dec. 15, 2020, unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.
A Special Enrollment Period allows people who have had a major life change, like having a baby, moving to a new county, or getting married, to get coverage that better fits their new situation. If you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, you can either purchase a new health plan or make changes to an existing policy. We can help you find out if you qualify for financial assistance and find a plan that best meets your needs.
Talk to us one-on-one for answers about your situation. We can walk you through our plans, see if you are eligible for financial help, explain health plan options, and help you enroll in the best plan for you. We’re with you every step of the way.
Specific benefits and premium amounts vary depending on the plan selected.
The four metal levels

How can I get financial assistance to help me pay for insurance?
The government offers financial help to those who qualify to help pay part of the monthly cost of the health plan. Use the Health Care Tax Credit Estimator to determine your eligibility.
The government reviews information such as:
- Your household income
- Your family size and individual ages
- Where you live
The amount of financial help you get will be based on this information. If you qualify, you'll pay a lower monthly cost for your Florida Blue health plan.
