Students can Net Free Orlando Magic Tickets through Orange County Library System’s Summer Reading Program
The Orange County Library System has teamed up with the Orlando Magic and Florida Blue to offer free Magic tickets to students for a game next season. Youth ages 6-12 can score a pair of free tickets as part of the Summer Reading Program offered through the library.
To qualify for the tickets, students must submit five book reviews online using Beanstack on the library system’s website. Upon completion of the fifth review, they will earn the Orlando Magic Baskets for Books presented by Florida Blue virtual badge and receive two free tickets to an upcoming Magic game, while supplies last. Visit www.ocls.info/srp for complete rules and guidelines.
“Summertime not only gives our players an opportunity to relax and recover from last season, it is also when they start preparing for the upcoming season,” said Alex Martins, Orlando Magic CEO. “We’re excited to team up with our Baskets for Books partner Florida Blue to encourage students to do the same thing this summer. While enjoying the time away from school, they can also start preparing for next school year by continuing to read and earn a pair of tickets to an upcoming game.”
Youth must submit their book reviews by Friday, August 2, in order to qualify. Tickets will be awarded to the first 200 students earning the Orlando Magic Baskets for Books presented by Florida Blue virtual badge. Recipients of the tickets will be notified by August 9 and must have a library card in good standing with the Orange County Library System.
Orlando Magic Baskets for Books presented by Florida Blue is a program focused on encouraging reading among Orlando-area youth. In addition to the Summer Reading Program with the Orange County Library System, the program provides one free book to the Early Learning Coalition of Orange County for every point scored by the Magic at a home game. To date, more than 42,000 books have been given out by the program.
