There is not a hotter place to be than Miami’s South Beach as it hosts the annual Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF) on February 21-24. This world-renowned event is chock-full of celebrities, Food Network™ TV personalities and an abundance of the main attraction: spectacular food and wine. We’re delighted to present the Florida Blue Fun and Fit as a Family experience featuring Kellogg’s Kidz Kitchen sponsored by Carnival on February 23rd and 24th at Jungle Island. Here, celebrity chefs including Giada De Laurentiis, Aarón Sánchez and others will help kids learn first-hand how to make nutritious, tasty food. Chef Aria Kagan will lead kids in making “caterpillar sandwiches” at our demo booth, where all participants will also receive an exclusive giveaway! Kids will also get to take tours of an urban garden, overflowing with an abundance of locally-grown produce. Take a look at how last year’s urban garden came together: This year’s garden features chives, marjoram, lettuces, strawberries, citrus and more. Our goal is to inspire everyone at SOBEWFF to create a dish with these ingredients and know that healthy food made at home can really be spectacular. During American Heart Health month, we take that message to heart and have a contest to inspire you! Pin your favorite original recipe and tag @Florida Blue using #SOBEWFF . Make sure to use one or more of these urban garden ingredients: strawberries, mint and marjoram, and you’ll have the chance to win a $25 Visa gift card! Our very own celebrity chef, DeJuan Roy, will help you get your cooking mojo rocking with his own take on a delicious appetizer, entrée and dessert using ingredients from the urban garden (Read his posts!). Winners will be announced on February 25th. Click here for the complete terms and conditions.   Why stop there? Maybe planting your own garden is the next step!  Be sure to read our post about The Man in Overalls to learn how you can make a significant change in your family’s health by growing your own food. Be sure to follow our tweets and Facebook posts as we capture the fun at SOBEWFF – and add your own updates! Use the hashtags #SOBEWFF and #FunandFit and we’ll be sure to pass them along. See you there!  Terms and conditions for #FunandFit Pinterest Contest
