Former First Lady Barbara Bush once said: “giving frees us from the familiar territory of our own needs by opening our mind to the unexplained worlds occupied by the needs of others.”

This quote is a perfect summary of our #FloridaGives campaign. Floridians showed us what moves them, and what organizations they support  for helping solve the needs of others.

Between November 16th and November 30th, we asked Floridians to upload a photo, video or essay about why they are grateful . From there we randomly selected five individuals as winners of $10,000 for their favorite charity.

Over 200 people shared how their favorite organizations made adifference in their lives and their communities.

We are proud to announce the five winners and their organizations.

Lou Barfield - First Coast YMCA

Sheila Walker  - Gabriel House of Care

Estrella Charles -  Feeding Tampa Bay

Meg Pruitt -  Lighthouse Central Florida

Kristi Mills - Beat NB

We asked people to share their blessings, and we were blessed in return.
