A Helping Hand

Pat Geraghty leads by example. In the wake of the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma, the example he has set is on the relief and recovery efforts across the state of Florida.

As the CEO of Florida Blue, chair of the Florida Council of 100, and Chairman of the Board Trustees for the United Way of Northeast Florida, he is participant leader who walks the talk. He has challenged other leaders and organizations to come together as a community and help rebuild our state and the lives of many Floridians. That challenge has beenenthusiastically accepted; over $2.8 million has been raised for the First Coast Relief Fund.

One of the most engaging aspects of Pat is that he is no stranger to getting involved with the details of making a difference in others' lives. Pat understands recovery efforts are about more than a check. It is about what you can physically do to help others.

Recently, Pat traveled with members of the Northeast Florida Chapter of the American Red Cross to deliver food, supplies and comfort kits to a Jacksonville neighborhood hard hit by Irma.

If you are interested in volunteering for Hurricane relief efforts or beyond, Volunteer Florida can connect you with local organizations that could use your help.
