Saving on Imaging Costs

If your doctor orders a CT scan or MRI, it will generally cost you less to have your test at an independent, or “freestanding,” imaging center rather than at an outpatient hospital facility. We can help you determine costs before you have an imaging service – just call, click or visit us in person at a Florida Blue Center.* Plus, you may be eligible for a reward when you get imaging services at an independent imaging center.

To see if you’re eligible for a reward, go to My Rewards in your floridablue.com account and follow these steps:

1. In your list of rewardable activities, find and click Save on a CT Scans or Save on MRIs. In the screen that appears, click Find an Imaging Center. Select a center from the list.
2. Talk to your doctor about having your imaging test at the center you chose before they send an order for your test.
3. After your doctor sends an order for your CT scan or MRI to your chosen imaging center, schedule your appointment.
4. Once Florida Blue receives the claim and confirms your CT scan or MRI was performed at an independent imaging center, you’ll automatically earn reward points.

To see your earned reward points, log in to your floridablue.com account and navigate to My Rewards.

*Rewards are available on fully insured employer health plans and individual ACA plans. Family members age 18 and older on your plan are eligible to earn rewards.
