Florida Blue Volunteers
Through our volunteer program, employees offer their time, talent and expertise to support worthy causes and help make a difference in their communities. Last year our employees contributed over 60,000 volunteer hours supporting a wide range of causes.
Florida Blue offers employees eight hours of paid time off each year to volunteer in their communities. Specialized company-sponsored volunteer projects are also organized and scheduled throughout the year.
Our employees generously contribute to causes and organizations that are close to their hearts. Last year, employees contributed over $1.5 million to address local community needs.
For more than 50 years, Florida Blue has had a tradition of supporting United Way. Through our annual fundraising campaign our employees contributed more than $1.25 million in 2016. Matching contributions from Florida Blue raised the total dollars donated to local United Way affiliates to over $2.5 million doubling the impact.
Whether it is a natural disaster or unforeseen catastrophic circumstance, our employees want to help one another during difficult times. Lift by GuideWell—the company employee relief fund—provides short-term assistance to employees during times of financial hardship caused sudden, severe, unexpected events.
