An independent licensee of the national Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) Association, we manage BCBS health plans and HMOs (PPO, EPO, HMO, HMO-POS) throughout Florida. And, as part of a not-for-profit mutual holding company, we have a unique advantage: the freedom to reinvest in ways that are good for our members and our communities, rather than the obligation of extracting profits for shareholders. This includes ensuring access to high-quality, more affordable care for our members and supporting community initiatives that help improve health and well-being.

Thinking ahead since 1944
Our journey began more than 80 years ago, when we introduced the first Blues plans to enable access to quality, more affordable care. Today, we’re recognized as the oldest and largest health insurer in Florida, serving 6 million members with health care including individual, group and Medicare health insurance plans, personalized care programs, and mental well-being support. Through the years, we’ve excelled at solving challenges and optimizing opportunities for the sake of a better system of health.
