Ed's story

Ed’s morning routine has changed, thanks to his new lungs and a new beginning. “When I get up in the morning, I always thank the donor. I thank the surgeons. I thank Florida Blue,” Ed said.

In need of a double lung transplant, Ed was dependent on liquid oxygen. “My case manager was responsible for getting me the liquid oxygen I needed when no one else could. It’s what kept me alive.

Now living his best life, Ed appreciates what most of us take for granted. “Being able to breathe, it is a feeling that you want to rejoice instantly.”
